Question: Talk about the Internal Organizational Boundaries and Commission. Answer: Presentation The reasonable work commission is an autonomous body whose order is to guarantee acceptable work environment conditions and support of security net of least pay rates, notwithstanding other business capacities and guidelines. The Fair Work Act improves an increasingly national structure for controlling mechanical relations in Australia. Each state has the option to give part or the entirety of their modern relations administration to the federation. Consequently, all the laborers of that specific state will proficiently be secured by the national Fair Work Act in the event that a state chooses to allude their administration to a focal and national modern relations structure (Bray Stewart, 2013). The Fair work Commission has assumed control over the commands of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) in taking care of working environment issues and mechanical activities. The primary elements of the Fair Work Commission incorporate obsession of a lowest pay permitted by l aw, settling questions, supporting endeavor understandings and settling cases of uncalled for excusal. Note that the body supplanted the Australian Industrial Relations Commission. Additionally, it executes jobs recently did by the Australian Fair Pay Commission and the Workplace Authority. Other than this, it is engaged with the technique of improving national mechanical relations approaches. This incorporates, controlling the honor structure and keeping up least wages (Buchanan, 2013). This paper is a conversation of the elements of the Fair Work Commission really taking shape and affirming of understandings. Creation of Agreements A venture understanding can be made between at least one laborers with their picked specialists. Also, the undertaking understanding can be changed to profit certain endeavors (James Ombudsman, 2015). Ellem contends that during the way toward making an agreement, where pioneers have neglected to haggle in compliance with common decency, the great confidence arranging necessities will act to forestall issues by permitting the Fair Work Commission to make orders (Ellem, 2014). This should serve the interests of both the overall population and arranging agents. Moreover, on the off chance that one bartering accomplice accepts that the other accomplice isn't haggling in accordance with some basic honesty, they should illuminate the culpable accomplice regarding their bothers and give a sensible period to react. This will forestall suppositions that the agents are not haggling in accordance with some basic honesty on the grounds that the Fair Work Commission may have the option to make ar ranging orders, on the off chance that it is persuaded that this report was readied (Hustedt Seyfried, 2016). So as to upgrade trustworthiness of existing agreements, the Fair Work Commission can't make great confidence arranging orders until following three months before the ostensible expiry date of a proceeding with contract, if the supervisor has not offered the laborers another agreement. Ellem features that it isn't important for the arranging delegates to join to an agreement where they don't acknowledge the conditions of the agreement. In the event that the Fair Work Commission presumes that they have been outrageous breaks of arranging orders by arranging delegates and those penetrates have altogether influenced the agreement, it will reserve the privilege to make a workstation assurance. Besides, great confidence arranging necessities shield directors from uncalled for arranging techniques, in this way, if arranging agents don't concur about the agreement, they reserve an option to together leave. Such an agreement must empower for the portrayal of laborers demonstrated in the understanding so as to disentangle the debate goals technique. All the endeavor understandings should likewise be checked by the Fair Work Commission for assent before they start activity. The approval methodology is basic and includes occasional valuation of the undertaking understanding and conditions under which it is made. After the understanding has been endorsed by the representatives, the Fair Work Commission will affirm that the agreement is certifiable, the arrangement of laborers secured by the agreement is reasonably picked, the agreement is as per the Better Off Overall Test (BOOT) and the agreement doesn't contain unlawful substance. The accreditation technique under the Fair Work Act will abbreviate the greater part of the procedure applied during the reasonableness test. During the time of agreement, the arranging group is required to give a protected presentation laying out the substance of the agreement. Other than this, it is significant that the understanding is marked by the business and a pioneer of the laborers (Roles O'Donnell, 2013). The venture understandings can empower that increase in pay rates and stipends are related with the efficiency increment at the undertaking. This is an aftereffect of arrangements at the degree of big business which are good mirroring the money related situation of the venture. Moreover, aggregate bartering will support profitability instead of spotlight on dealings. In this way, aggregate bartering under the Fair Work Commission won't be limited by rules and is created to goodly affect work efficiency. Before the progress Act, the workstation Authority ought to apply a reasonableness test to understandings. The Fairness Test is valuable to the business yet it is normally confronted with wasteful aspects. Other than this, the execution of the Fairness Test has prompted large deferrals in the endorsement of understandings (Giudice, 2014). What's more, the Fair Work Commission will utilize the BOOT to guarantee that each specialist secured by the understanding is in a superior situation when contrasted with another cutting edge grant. The utilization of present day grants as reference will improve rearrangements of the approval procedure when contrasted with the current, troublesome least principles commitment. Besides, it upgrades development and reasonableness through organization gets that are made to address the issues of organizations and the laborers (Howe, 2014). This includes furnishing the laborers and chiefs with their preferred opportunity to choose people to speak to them in arrangements for a proposed agreement. It additionally helps Fair Work Australia to improve great confidence dealing and the advancement of agreements. For example, through making arranging requests and unraveling situations where gatherings need assistance and ensuring that laborers remembered for the understanding are in a superior si tuation against the most recent security net. McKenzie features that the Fair Work Commission has different capacities that incorporate setting a system for dealing with the prerequisites of work in a circumstance where there is move of business that empowers a harmony between the assurance of the necessities of work and the requirements of administrators in dealing with their organization adequately (McKenzie, 2015). Furthermore, it upgrades portrayal and equity at the work station through improved and clear broad insurances centered with workstation and mechanical rights (Trigger, Keenan, Rijke Rifkin, 2014). For instance, opportunity and privileges of affiliation and security against biasness, illicit end and phony arrangements which conceal work arrangements as self employed entity commitment. Also, it offers assurance against one-sided excusal for laborers utilizing an adaptable, quick and casual technique, a weight on reasonable excusal code and accentuation for little ventures. Thirdly, it gives extreme and clear guidelin es against mechanical strikes, with the opportunity to have quiet modern strikes over the span of dealings on the side of statements comparative with another business contract coming about to an equitable and reasonable political race. It additionally includes approving the Fair Work commission to make requests to end modern strikes and forestall constraints on installment to laborers during mechanical strikes (Charlesworth Macdonald, 2015). It additionally keeps up an equivalent and adjusted framework for opportunity of passage for administrators of organizations and approves the Fair Work Commission to deal with misuses of rights by authorities, irrational requests by directors and common cases. In addition, it gives an ideal for directors to confront laborers in outrageous circumstances. Fourthly, it empowers accommodation with the most recent workstation relations system in improving a specific, accessible consistence structure. Consequently, this includes the strengthening of t he Fair Work Departments of the government court or the bureaucratic Magistrates court to make any request that is important to tackle an encroachment. Additionally, it includes the capacity to make benefits under an agreement of working that partners to comparative topics as the cutting edge grant in the government court and the bureaucratic Magistrates court by administrators in influenced states and region courts and various cases process in the Federal Magistrates court (James Ombudsman, 2015). To finish up, the Fair Work Commission improves the way toward settling on and endorsing understandings. The Fair work Commission has drawn in the jobs of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) in tackling work environment issues and mechanical activities. Comparable to this, it gives data about the system of making venture understandings and agreements. The Fair Work Commission likewise affirms and assesses the understandings and resolves issues emerging about the terms of understandings. The significant elements of the Fair Work Commission incorporate obsession of a lowest pay permitted by law, settling debates, favoring undertaking understandings and settling claims o

Nonfiction To Read If Youd Like to Follow Owls Around
Nonfiction To Read If Youd Like to Follow Owls Around Have you watched this amazing story about following owls yet? If you came across NPRs story on the path of a snowy owl, you might have really enjoyed it. You might have even watched it a few times. If, like me, you watched it way too many times and began to question the value of non-bird existence, then maybe its time to explore a little bit further here. There are such fantastic themes in Adam Coles video piece on following a specific Snowy Owls movement from Baltimore to the North not just about owls themselves and their travelling ways, but about humans who are surprised and overwhelmed by this owlish process. So, thanks NPR, and Adam Cole, for producing a story so fantastic, it deserved its own booklist: The Homing Instinct: Meaning and Mystery in Animal Migration by Bernd Heinrich Is this one too on the nose? Heinrich starts his book immediately through the comparison of his trip leaving Germany to the pigeons ability to return home when released in a strange area. And he goes from there. Its clear this author has lots to talk about and many many birds to consider. The Genius of Birds by Jennifer Ackerman I love how this one starts out by analyzing our view of birds as creatures lacking intelligence (i.e. bird brain). The best part about this is the recognition of intelligence as a flexible term that seems inflexible. The Owl Who Liked Sitting on Caesar: Living with a Tawny Owl by Martin Windrow Along with a warning about when one should adopt an owl (pretty much never), Windrow goes into the long story of his life with an owl as a pet and a background of owl-life in general. With an interesting look into everyday life with an owl friend and how the world reacts to such a relationship, Windrows work is a rare example. Or, if youre interested in the culture of Americas response to nature in general, an issue often overlooked, check out: Trace: Memory, History, Race and the American Landscape by Lauret Savoy Beautifully written, this book focuses on the great travelling of humans across landscapes. Ive just started this one, and the writing itself is overwhelming. Savoy knows how to present nature and people together and juxtaposed against each other. Genocide The United Nations Security Council Essay
Acts of genocide have occurred for centuries even though the term genocide did not appear until the twentieth century. In 1948 the United Nations General Assembly passed a law that legally defined genocide and ruled it as an illegal act. According to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG) Article II the definition of genocide is ââ¬Å"any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: ââ" Killing members of the group; ââ" Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; ââ" Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; ââ" Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; ââ" Forcibly transferring children of the group to another groupâ⬠(Chaulagain). Even with this very clear definition of genocide the United Nations Security Council still proved ineffective in preventing the genocide that occurred in Rwanda between the Hutu and Tutsi people. There are a number of theories as to why the U.N. was so inefficient in preventing the genocide such as : there was little political will to intervene from Western countries, the tragedy which had recently occurred in Somalia, and the overlooking of early warning signs. W.E.B DuBois wrote the book titled The Souls of Black Folk in 1903 as a response to the condition of black people in America. The book predates the 1920s Harlem Renaissance, but can be viewed as a precursor to the New Negro Movement. Prior to 1903, blacks lived primarily in the South, but by the 1920s the black population in New York City rose by 115 percent. The movement of blacks from the South to the North occurred for various reasons; discontent with life in the Jim Crow South, widespread violence against blacks and the opportunity for jobs in the North due to WWI. The Souls of Black Folk is the written anthem for the Harlem Renaissance; the book voices the condition of blacks in 1903 and aims to celebrate African-American culture, to strive for equality and break with the philosophy of Booker T. Washington. DuBois was born in Massachusetts in 1868 and was educated at prestigious institutions like Fisk and Harvard. DuBois was an intellectual black Northerner who had had many o pportunities, but was far removed from the condition of blacks in the South. The Problem in Wanting free essay sample
There was not a single, shining moment of clarity in which I suddenly understood the importance or working hard for my education. I did not lose a loved one. I did not have a near death experience. I did not visit a museum or a national landmark. I did not read an inspiring book or see a feel-good film. I never had that ââ¬Å"Ah haâ⬠moment. Eureka never passed through my lips. However, at some point during my sophomore year of high school, I gradually began to truly think about the future; about what I did and didnââ¬â¢t want for my future. I did not want to despise my job as my stepfather does. I did not want to struggle to pay the bills as my mother once did. I want to live in a city I love, to drive a car I can count on. I want to travel, to learn, to understand. We will write a custom essay sample on The Problem in Wanting or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page These desires inspired me to commit to school, to bring my grades up, to look ahead, and to prepare myself for life after High School. In turn, I began to study harder, to care more, and to fight for the future that still seemed so far away. My Cs soon turned to Bs, and those Bs steadily to As. Before I even understood what I had done, I let myself begin to dream, to hope, and to imagine. Through aspiring for a bright future, I created a brighter present for myself. After two years of steady progress, my aspirations have grown, and I have grown. Now a senior in high school, I see my once far-off goals suddenly within reach; so close, I can feel their warmth. All my work spurred from wanting, and of course there lies a problem in wanting anything, in hoping and dreaming. Once you really want somethingââ¬âonce you anticipateââ¬â you can lose it, you can be disappointed. Iââ¬â¢ve grown up as the only child in a single-parent household. For most of my life it was just me and my mother, however a few years ago my mother got married and now we are a family of four. My mother is a self-employed cosmetologist, my step-father installs and repairs air-conditioning units, and I myself work a weekend job for minimum wage. We are far from the poorest people I know, but I assure you that we do not have $30,000 lying around waiting to buy me an education. Without some form of financial aid, I go nowhere and I do nothing until enough money can be saved up; which could take years. This is the reality I fear, a reality I know is too close for comfort. I have a wide range of interests thatââ¬âin theoryââ¬âcould all be molded into respectable careers; from Creative Writing to Sociology, to Anthropology and Ethnology. ââ¬Å"What do I want to be when I grow up?â⬠I am not entirely certain. At Armstrong I hope to pursue Sociology as a course of study, but I can make no promises that in ten years I will be a Sociologist; it seems life is uncertain that way. While Sociology is offered only as a minor degree of study at Armstrong I believe it will be the perfect place to start, and the ideal environment for me to discover who I am and what I want to be. In closing, Armstrong Atlantic State University is where I want to be, where Iââ¬â¢ve dreamed of being, and where Iââ¬â¢ve worked hard to get. I know there may be failures, but I am ready to overcome them. Through perseverance, dedication, and motivation I will make my family, my University, and myself proud; if I am only awarded the opportunity.

To Be An American Essays - American Cuisine, Canadian Cuisine
To Be an American In all of Americas history we have stole bits and pieces of traditions from other cultures. Throughout this we made new traditions of our own. Whether it is gathering around the table once a year to have a full course feast, visiting a loved one that has past away, and/or lighting up fireworks to celebrate our independence. This makes tradition inseparable in today's American society. Even though we all have different beliefs. The one tradition that all Americans have in common is Thanksgiving. Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce, rolls, stuffing, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and anything else we stuff our face with. This is the time of the year that we come together as a family and forget the entire ruckus that happens during the year. It started way back when Christopher Columbus discovered this continent. It never would have happened if the pilgrims didn't meet the Indians. That shows you that it took two different cultures joining to celebrate to create an everlasting tradition. That is what American tradition is all about. Sharing with other cultures. To say tradition out weighs experience and vise versa is very ignorant. They coexist like peanut butter and jelly. Who makes a peanut butter sandwich without jelly? It is just that plain and simple. We have learned from many people and things. That is why we have holidays. Columbus day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and Martin Luther King's birthday have come through experience and we remember them to this day. They have shaped today's society and with their great minds and we have thanked them for that. In all actuality, Americans have developed vastly since the taking of this continent. We have soared to become one of the most powerful countries on earth. We did this with experience and our tradition of being very hard workers. We started from scratch and now look at us. We are the people that so many envy. All in all, Americans are people who combined their cultures and hard work to create tradition through their experience. That is what defines us as Americans.

How to Read and Write Binary Numbers
How to Read and Write Binary Numbers When you learn most types of computer programming, you touch upon the subject of binary numbers. The binary number system plays an important role in how information is stored on computers because computers only understand numbers - specifically, base 2 numbers. The binary number system is a base 2 system that uses only the numerals 0 and 1 to represent off and on in a computers electrical system. The two binary digits 0 and 1 are used in combination to communicate text andà computer processor instructions. Although the concept of binary numbers is simple once explained, reading and writing binary is not clear at first. To understand binary numbers, which use a base 2 system, first look at the more familiar system of base 10 numbers. Writing in Base 10 Take the three-digit number 345, for example. The farthest right number, 5, represents the 1s column, and there are 5 ones. The next number from the right, the 4, represents the 10s column. Interpret the number 4 in the 10s column as 40. The third column, which contains the 3, represents the 100s column. Many people know base 10 through education and years of exposure to numbers. The Base 2 System Binary works in a similar way. Each column represents a value. When one column is filled, move to the next column. In a base 10 system, each columnà needs to reach 10 before moving to the next column. Any column can have a value of 0 through 9, but once the count goes beyond that, add a column. In base 2 or binary, each column can contain onlyà 0 or 1 before moving to the next column. In base 2, each column represents a value that is double the previous value. The values of positions, starting on the right, are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, and so on. The number one is represented as 1 in both base ten and binary, so lets move on to the number two. In base ten, it is represented with a 2. However,à in binary, there can be only a 0 or a 1 before moving on to the next column. As a result, the number 2 is written as 10 in binary. It requires a 1 in the 2s column and 0 in the 1s column. Take a look at the number three. Obviously, in base 10 it is written as 3. In base two, it is written as 11, indicating a 1 in the 2s column and a 1 in the 1s column. This becomes 21 3. Binary Number Column Values When you know how binary works, reading it is simply a matter of doing some simple math. For example: 1001:à Since we know the value each of these slots represents, then we know this number represents 8 0 0 1. In base 10, this would be the number 9. 11011:à Calculate what this is in base 10 by adding the value of each position. In this case, this becomes 16 8 0 2 1. This is the number 27 in base 10. Numbers at Work in a Computer So, what does all this mean to the computer? The computerà interpretsà combinations of binary numbers as text or instructions. For example, each lowercase and uppercase letter of the alphabet is assigned a different binary code. Each is also assigned a decimal representation of that code, called anà ASCII code. For example, the lowercase a is assigned the binary number 01100001. It is also represented by the ASCII code 097. If you do the math on the binary number, youll see it equals 97 in base 10.

Expanding of Businesses Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Expanding of Businesses - Assignment Example In this similar context, one of the chief factors related to exporting which needs to be considered by the small firms is to concentrate on sales activities for exporting in markets having better performance as compared to firms pursuing strategies in isolation. There are various reasons for firms engaging in expansion on global basis that include exploiting the unique knowledge possessed by the firms and potentially reducing costs through development scale of economies or through leveraging resources (Brouthers & et. al., 2009). In order to determine the major factors that a small organisation has to consider before commencement of exporting, it has been viewed that the notion of export planning plays a decisive part in the commencement of exporting. In this regard, it can be affirmed that export planning might assist a firm towards accessing the potential of mitigating uncertainties and complexities related to exporting. Another key factor related to exporting for small firms is fo rmation of strategic alliances with trustful partners. This step could be beneficial for small organizations to maintain effective performance in long run (Sengupta & et.al., 1999). It can also be stated that through proper research of market, it is quite possible to make a thorough assessment of the markets resulting in acquiring a brief idea about the market nature. Efficient distribution and shipping assists smaller firms in exporting as an organization finds an appropriate market that has reasonable demand and regulations and bears no entry barriers that eventually results in smooth conduct of business (Samuels, 2013). It can be stated that the small organisations needed to consider certain key factors prior to their commencement of exporting. In this similar concern, the small organisations strongly believe that they can attain significant benefits from considering the factors before commencing exporting. The benefits comprise raising sales along with revenues, minimizing risks , enlarging life-cycle of the products and most significantly penetrating into new business markets among others (Tekle, 2013). After acquiring a brief idea about the benefits that can acquire by the small organisations, it can be affirmed from a broader perspective that they need to consider a particular chief factor concerning building an effective corporate international image prior to the commencement of exporting. It has often been viewed that financial risks generally occurs while carrying out transactions on an international basis. Thus, on the basis of the above discussion, it can be stated that the small organisations must consider certain other major factors like adopting as well as executing planning dimensions, conducting proper analysis of market and concentrating much upon product pricing and quality prior to the commencement of exporting (Tekle, 2013). Question 2 It has been apparently observed that the business organisations belonging to this modern day context tends to invest substantially in abroad for the purpose of raising profitability, overall productivity, business reputation and most significantly attaining superior competitive position. However, relating to this context, it can be observed that a business organisation when investing abroad often has the difficult choice of either buying an existing facility or building a new facility. This can be owing to the reason

Moral obligations extend only to human beings Essay
Moral obligations extend only to human beings - Essay Example The moral obligations need to be legitimized before one can remark them as being conclusive or completely incomprehensible. The fact of the matter is that these moral obligations have to be performed no matter how difficult or tough it gets at the end of the day. The human beings need to understand their due role and go about completing the tasks and activities that are asked of them in the long run (Stivers, 1996). There simply does not seem to be any other ideology behind the same dictum. The moral obligations come about in the wake of the adherence to ethical and moral standards that are asked of the human beings, and how they go about executing the same is an important manifestation of their behavioral domains. Having said that it is also important to notice the kind of activities that moral obligations can actually bring to the fore as has been found through research and evidence of practice. One must fathom the fact that morality is something very integral to a personââ¬â¢s realms and he should therefore understand the ideology behind having it (Mullen, 2008). If there is a good amount of concentration laid on the premise that morality will come about with the performance of certain standards, which are for the betterment of the human beings in the long run, then this goes to show the amount of optimism which exists within the related circles. On the other hand, if this does not come about this easily, then there are bound to be serious repercussions for the human beings which must be discussed in entirety. In essence, the moral obligations must be understood across the board. This is because these obligations have a great amount of say in the eventual make-up of the human beings and how they conduct their tasks in relation with one another. This is the need of the hour to make sure that these moral obligations are carried out in a good enough way (Himma, 2008). It will solve the quandaries related

Romeo And Juliet | Analysis
Romeo And Juliet | Analysis Romeo and Juliet will always remain a classic example of a tale of pure love that was forbidden. On the similar lines are Isabel Allendes The House of the Spirits and Laura Esquivels Like Water for Chocolate wherein Blanca and Pedro, Ferula and Clara in the former and Tita and Pedro Muzquiz in the latter are restrained for some reason or the other to experience the culmination of their eternal love. Besides the characters the passionate culture of the Latin- America as the setting of both the texts too contributes a lot in making both these stories the tales of love which was not successful. Eateban Treubas and Claras daughter Blanca is born and brought up in a rich family. The Hacienda of which Esteban Trueba is the owner has Pedro, Blancas love working on it. The society was divided on the basis of class and that is what acted as a major obstacle in Blancas and Pedros relation, making their love a forbidden one. Esteban Treuba was known for his dictatorship amongst the peasants who worked on Tres Marias. Many disapproved and disliked his ways of working. Pedro too was one of them who used every opportunity that he got to oppose his rules. Esteban Treuba was well aware of this and it further made the situation worse for Pedro and Blanca. Esteban was not aware of this secret affair that his daughter had nurtured for so many years. it is by Jean de Satingy that he is informed of the fact that such a relation existed. Esteban whipped and lashed his daughter for this so much so he forcibly got her married to Jean and deported them to some desert. Estebans treatment did damage his relation with his daughter but the physical separation between Pedro and Blanca could in no way put off the passion that each other had within their hearts. Thus no force on earth could prevent them from coming to love each other with the ecstatic passion. However the love experienced by the two was unusual. Since they had grown up together experiencing this secret love for each other that it had become a way of life for them . No one made any efforts of making it a success because they were afraid of the fact that in normal circumstances they may not experience the same passion that they did in forbidden circumstances. Blanca fed their love with fantasies, idealized it, savagely defended it, stripped it of prosaic truth, and turned it into the kind of love found in novels. The love experienced by both was thus forbidden even though the passion never faded. Another character who experiences forbidden love is Esteban Trueba, who wished all his life that Clara submit to him. He wanted to possess her both emotionally and physically. Allende projects the immense power of love which may be forbidden but certainly gives meanings to the lives of the characters. Laura Esquivel brings out the theme of forbidden love through many characters. it is a story set in Mexico , of a family that lives on a ranch and in times when tradition heavily bound them from doing what they wished to. Tita de La Garza, like any teenage girl found the love of her life in Pedro Muzquiz. She began to weave her dreams thinking of marrying her love one day, but the dreams shattered when Mama Elena announced that instead of her it is Rosaura who would get married to Pedro. The reason given for this was that the youngest daughter of the family had to spend her entire life serving her mother. So at the very outset the theme of forbidden love is introduced in the novel. The passionate love had to face many a storm; many relations begin to lose meaning. First is that of Tita and Mama Elena. It is Mama Elena who is responsible for ruining it all. She troubles her daughter to such an extent that it becomes suffocating for her .she is even forbidden to express her sorrow over the fact that she cannot spend her life with Pedro and she is given charge of the wedding. She begins to hate Rosaura for following Mama Elenas orders and all such emotions are given the shape of the wedding cake which ha s the similar emotion overtaking the guests who eat it. Isabel Allende uses the theme of forbidden love to make her story progress .On the other hand Laura Esquivels Like Water for Chocolate revolves around this theme bringing out the attitudes, behaviours , emotions feelings of various characters who are affected by it in some way or the other. For instance the love that Rosaura feels for Pedro is forbidden because even though Pedro got married to her, it was done on a purpose. He could never kill his feelings for Tita, nor could Mama Elena force him to do that. Mama Elena herself experiences forbidden love where the norms of the society restrain her to settle with the man she loved. All this is known through Tita who ventures into her mothers box after death. Both the authors highlight the fact that Esteban Trueba and Mama Elena responsible for forbidding characters to love each other could surely exercise their power in succeeding in the venture but they could not completely destroy the emotion within the hearts of Pedro and Blanca and Pedro and Tita. The love continues to rule and eventually does succeed in the case of Pedro and Tita. However as far as redeeming for the sin committed it is only Esteban Trueba who undergoes transformation towards the end of the novel. The irony is that the man he hated the most, is the one who helps him out in the times when he had no hope left, where as in case of Mama Elena she continues to remain cruel throughout, infact climbs the ladder from being bad to worse. She carries it with her to her grave and continues to trouble Tita appearing to her every now and then as a ghost. Forbidden love as a theme is extremely significant tool of narrating a story. It has both the power to add depth to the plot which is the case of the house of the spirits and the ability to hold the text on its foundation as evident in case of Like Water for Chocolate. Both Laura Esquivel and Isable Allende have beautifully dealt with the powerful emotion of love ,binding it with the thrilling forbidden urge and as a result both the texts keep the readers engaged right uptill the end.

The Euro Essay -- Currency Currencies Finance Economy Essays
The Euro The new international currency of the European Economic union, euro became the national currency on January 1 2002. In this union where only euro is valid as currency includes Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain and their national currencies will cease to exist. Before the euro formation, there existed the gold standard and the Bretton Woods system. Both were aimed at the internal and external stability. These policies collapsed when the two goals diverged. Since the euro eliminates the exchange rate problem and focuses more on the internal stability by unifying currency, the policy target dichotomy can be resolved. Even though nothing like euro has been established before, it was formed to benefit the European economy by controlling the budget deficit, by having a more stable government, and by creating an even closer union among the people of Europe thus there are many benefits that will allow euro to exist in the long run. The formation of euro has increased the importance of internal stability such as price stability and employment. The Europeââ¬â¢s move to euro must stand on a foundation of stable government policies. The stability will cause lower prices, lower interest and create more jobs and investment. The internal stability should be build from the inside and not pressured from the outside by fixed exchange rates, â⬠Monetary stability had to be built at homeâ⬠quoted by Heinz-Peter SpaHn. By uniting Europe the ââ¬Å"homeâ⬠area has expanded. The articles in the Treaty on European Union clarifies that the budget deficit cannot exceed 3% of countries gross domestic product by establishing very clear surveillance procedures. The deficit ... ...sizes and colors and posses identical designs in all 12 countries. This makes it easier for a foreigner to recognize the bank note. The formation of euro can have two outcomes. It is either the great experiment like the critics says or it will succeed in the future and stabilize the economy by focusing on the internal balance. By increasing trade and reducing trade restrictions Europe will be more integrated. The increase in competition will benefit the growth of the economy. For economy to expand there have to be new innovations. To have new innovations, there have to be experiments in the economy. The introduction of euro is completely new in our economy and it is a great experiment that will succeed and promote the overall economic growth. This is not a short run move. Euro needs time to develop so that the beneficial results should be seen in the long run.

Bases of Power in an Organization
Bases of Power in an Organization Leadership in an organization can be defined as the approach and manner in which directions are provided, plans implemented and workers motivated. The bases of power can be said to be the ways and methods which the managers of an organization use in order to influence the behavior of the employees. It is also referred to as the possession of authority on the employees and having an influence over other people. Power is extremely beneficial tool in an organization because it depends on it and the way it is used; it leads to either positive or negative change.Power is categorized into five bases according to French and Raven in 1960. Dependency, on the other part, is reliance of an organization on certain employees or even an employee relying on the organization. Overreliance of an organization on different individuals or a few workers is usually highly discouraged. This is because an organization can fail due to an individualââ¬â¢s failure. In the given scenario, the organization is dependent on the employee 2 because he is the only one who can prepare the companyââ¬â¢s financial statement. The five bases of power are legitimate, reward, coercive, expert and referent (David, 1992). Legitimate power can also be referred to as positional power. This is because it is the position an individual holds in the given organizationââ¬â¢s hierarchy. In this case, a managerââ¬â¢s power over the junior workers is given a priority. It gives the power to the managers to issue orders to the junior workers. In our scenario the employee 1 works in the marketing department where the marketing manager ensures and encourages employees to work even beyond the required 40 hours a week.He keeps on reminding the workers to work hard in order to receive the yearly bonus. Reward power is another base of power which arises from the personââ¬â¢s ability to influence the allocation of resources and incentives in any given organization. The ince ntives can be in the form of positive appraisal, promotions and salary increment. People with this kind of power in an organization tend to influence other employeesââ¬â¢ behavior. This kind of power works best if used well, though it is also demoralizing to the employees if favoritism is used and this diminishes the output. In our scenario above the employee 3 was rewarded with the reward power by corporation A. In this case the employee has just brought a new idea to the organization which the team members were unsure of, though they tried and it worked (Dean, 2003). Due to the enthusiasm of the employees, the employee 3 was selected to lead the team. The reward power is well demonstrated in this situation. Coercive power is the power that is derived from an employeeââ¬â¢s ability to influence other employees through sanctions, threats and punishment. This can lead to junior employees working hard even in extra hours to meet deadlines so that they can avoid punishment from the boss. This kind of power helps the boss to control behaviors of the organization and its norms. In the scenario above, the employee 1 works hard in the office. He stays in the office till late night and even on weekends to ensure the work is complete and accurate. Expert power is another type and base of power that is based on the knowledge and experience. Expertise of an employee in a specific area is particularly beneficial in an organization.Experience in a certain area of the organization is paramount. The employeesââ¬â¢ opinions and ideas are highly regarded in the organization; hence they easily influence other workersââ¬â¢ behavior and working patterns. This kind of power becomes the stepping stone that connects to other bases of power. This is because experience is truly vital for proper running of business. In our scenario above the employee 2 is the only certified public accountant (CPA) in the organization who works in the accounting department. He is the only one w ith the knowledge to prepare financial statements for the company and due to this he successfully negotiated with the accounting manager for him to work a compressed work week (Murphy & Ebook Library, 2012). Referent power is the power that is derived from a personââ¬â¢s ability to form inter-relationship with others in the organization. This type of power is obtained when other people respect and like the worker. Through this their output is influenced by the employee through their admiration to the worker, their trust and respect. It is also obtained through the relationship with the people who matter in the organization, like the CEO. The Employee 3 can also be said to have been elevated to lead the team due to the admiration and enthusiasm he got from other employees. Reference David v. (1992). In ââ¬ÅImpossible Mourning Sophocles Reversalââ¬Â By Fanny...
In ââ¬Å"Impossible Mourning: Sophocles Reversalâ⬠by Fanny Soderback, she introduces the concept of a Sophoclean reversal at the heart Antigone. To introduce her argument, Antigone is associated with the private realm and divine law, and Creon is a representative of human law and politics. Soderback bases her understanding of Antigone on the work of Hannah Arendt, who argues that the Greek public realm is distinctly separated from the private realm, which rebuts most claims of how family and state were closed interconnected in Greek culture. This allows the readers to have a different interpretation of Antigone. Throughout the story, the idea of a Sophoclean reversal suggests that the relationships between the representative of the private andâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦However, the argument is further emphasized when Antigone challenges Creonââ¬â¢s authority after burying Polynices, supposedly two times, and induces him to reverse the consequences of disobedience agains t his rule near the end of the play, he changes his method of execution ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢ll take her down some wild, desolate path/ never trod by men, and wall her up alive/ in a rocky vault, and set out short rations, /â⬠(Sophocles 871-873). Since Creon tries to show piety towards Antigone because he did not directly kill her and refused to take responsibility for his actions, he found himself placed within the private realms in the Arendtian definition once again since he tried to make Antigone disappear without any involvement of the outsiders amongst the public. After making private decisions and going against his own word as king, Creonââ¬â¢s actions displayed the actions attributed to an individual who belongs in the private sphere. Throughout the play, Creon tried to rule over Thebes with authoritarian tendencies or as a dictator through actions of violence, later condemned by Tiresias, leading to Creonââ¬â¢s impotence and ultimately his profound reversal of fate, where he is surrounded by his dead loved ones consumed by uncontrollable grief. However, right before he receives the fate of the Gods, Creon already displays the characteristics of an individual in the private realm due to his fall from his pedestal. This is

Health reform will prevent bankruptcies by capping annual out-of-pocket costs for families who receive insurance through the exchanges or a small business. In the United States, insurance companies can deny coverage to people who are sick or who have pre-existing conditions, and they can make a profit. How do these wo factors impact American health care? A pre-existing condition is a health problem that existed before you apply for a health problem that existed before you apply for a health insurance policy or enroll in a new health plan. A pre-existing condition can be something as common and as serious as heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, type 2 diabetes, and asthma. These are some chronic health problems that affect a large portion of the population. Even if you have a relatively minor condition such as hay fever or a previous accidental injury, a health plan can deny coverage. In the United States, a pre- existing condition can affect your health insurance coverage. If you are applying for insurance, some health insurance companies may accept you conditionally by providing a pre-existing condition exclusion period In Germany, the rich pay for the poor, the ill are covered by the healthy, health insurance continues with or without employment, and doctors, who are private entrepreneurs, make less money than they did before reform. o Why will doctors in Germany accept less money? o Should the rich pay for the poor when it comes to health insurance? Germany as Europes oldest universal health care system, with origins dating back to Otto von Bismarcks Social legislation, which included the Health Insurance Bill of 1883. In the public system the premium is set by the Federal Ministry of Health based on a fixed set of covered services as described in the German Social Law (Sozialgesetzbuch SGB), which limits those services to economically viable, sufficient, necessary and meaningful services Also it is not dependent on an individuals health condition, but a percentage of salaried income. Typically 10-15%, depending on the public health nsurance company one is in, where half of that is paid by the employer. This system includes family members of any family members, or registered member ( Familienversicherung i. e. husband/wife and children are free). Its a pay as you go system there is no saving for an individuals higher health costs with rising age or existing conditions. With an aging population, there is an intrinsic risk that, in the long run, the burden to be carried by the young and working generations for the higher share of elderly will run the public system into a huge deficit or result in high premiums

Loving From Vietnam To Zimbabwe Essays - British Poetry,
Loving From Vietnam To Zimbabwe After reading Janice Mirikitani's poem "Loving from Vietnam to Zimbabwe" there is a profound amount of imagery used by Mirikitani that explains a reality of sex, love, and war. Mirikitani uses an interesting and unique format in the way she has written her poem. The "I" that Mirikitani uses is not referring to herself but rather another woman who is Vietnamese, or many women whom are Vietnamese. She has essentially divided her poem into two sides. One side, the left side, is where she reveals images of sex and love. On the other side, the right side, is where she reveals the imagery of war. By dividing her poem into two sides, she is able to describe two conflicting issues that are part of the woman's life or at some point had an impact on her life and emotions. It seems as though Mirikitani is explaining images from Vietnam. These images of sex, love, and war that she has written in respect to, are not the sex and love that we know as Americans, but the sex and love that was prevalent during the Vietnam War. Mirikitani wrote this poem in 1980, so it is possible that, she has some repressed images and feelings about the war or war in general. Mirikitani begins her poem with images of sex and love. By writing this poem, she has given a voice to many women from a country torn apart by War. It is almost as if every image she has of sex is matched with an image of war. This reveals how the woman must deal with two realities. One reality is the life of a Vietnamese woman and another reality of sleeping with the enemy. These two realities seem to be conflicting with each other and it ultimately makes the Vietnamese woman feel that her situation is unresolved. Mirikitani draws the reader into the subject matter of her poem by the use of her figurative language imagery. She describes a relationship between a Vietnamese woman and an American soldier who is of color. By defining the soldiers skin color, she metaphorically correlates his appearance as, "large/black like the shadowed belly of a leaf."(Stanza 16, lines 3-4) By this she is defining his appearance visually so that we see him as dark as a shadow is. It also gives the feeling that this soldier is mysterious, and cold blooded. The relationship that the woman has with the soldier is quite difficult to understand, but without reasonable doubt, these two people have engaged in sexual activities. On the sex side of her poem, which is the left side, she visually interprets her experience with the man. Mirikitani uses several extended metaphors to describe his body, "As I move into the grassy plain of your chest" (Stanza 12, lines 3-5) is an example. Not only does she use figurative language to describe the man, she also uses it to describe the physical interaction between them. For reference, stanza seven is an example of her figurative language that I am referring to. Because of their relationship, the Vietnamese woman feels troubled because there is anger within her due to what she feels the American soldiers have done to her people and their land. She is un-eased about having sex with this man because of her anger. One way to look at their relationship is to visualize that this woman and man are in a relationship of love and that one woman's lust for a man ultimately leads her to pain when he is killed. The woman is left in a painful and agonizing state after the man has been murdered; which gives the poem a slight twist at the ending. After she has left the images of the man's death with us, she reveals that love is dangerous and that, "loving in this world, is the silver splinting edge." (Stanza 20 line 1-3) Love has been painful to her and she has been maddened and angered by it. Another way to understand their relationship is that these two characters in Mirikitani's poem do not love each other and are with each other only for the means of sex. Mrikitani metaphorically describes the parts of the man's body as physical places on earth, "As I reach down onto Mt. Inyangani." She is not actually referring to Mt. Inyangani, but to the man's private parts. The relationship between the Vietnamese woman and the black man seems cold and awkward. There is no love involved in their sex;

Futurism and 20th Century Essay Example
Futurism and 20th Century Essay Example Futurism and 20th Century Paper Futurism and 20th Century Paper An Itch You Canââ¬â¢t Scratch Futurism is a movement in the 20th century that valued technologyââ¬â¢s beauty. In their works of art the Futurists tried to capture the experience of a modern world transformed by steam engines, electricity, automobiles, and airplanes. Futurist art was an appreciation of life and sought to obliterate the contemplative concept of art. Instead of standing separate from the experience of the modern world, Futurist artists threw themselves into the battle against a tame past and a liberating future. During the first decade of the 20th century, a group of young Italian painters came together under the influence of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, an Italian poet and writer. They dabbled in every medium of art including painting, sculpture, theatre and much more. Marinetti launched this movement in his Futurist Manifesto, which was published February 5, 1909. After it was published, it quickly spread to France, Germany, Russia and the Americas. This movement was the first organized, radical art movement of this century. Their manifestos were meant to shock and provoke the audience. Marinettiââ¬â¢s ideas came from his loath for tame virtues and tastes. His ideas were radical. He believed that it was time to create a new form of art for the people, based on the beauty of speed and the power and force of machinery. It was clear that Marinetti was trying to make Futurism break away from the past and create something completely new and compelling. The Futurists loved speed, noise, machines, pollution, and cities; they embraced the exciting new world that was upon them rather than enjoying the modern worldââ¬â¢s comforts while disapproving the forces that made them possible. : Futurism was a celebration of the machine age, glorifying war and favoring the growth of fascism. Futurist painting and sculpture were concerned with expressing movement and the dynamics of natural and man-made forms. Futurism in theatre, however, was very short lived. The futurist plays sought to transform the audience from just mere spectators to being active participants in the show. Marinetti presented a whole list of suggestions on how to cause laughter, commotion and fighting. The plays would incorporate the audience with antics such as spreading the seats with glue, or sprinkling itching powder on the seats. They also provoked the audience by overselling the tickets so there were not enough seats for the people who had purchased the tickets. This would lead to the fighting. These antics were meant to annoy and enrage the audience, forcing them to feel emotion when they were at the play and to physically participate. These emotions were obviously not positive emotions, which is why this form of theatre was not very popular and it did not last very long. Because after they aroused their audience, they failed to guide them to their ideals. Futurist theatre ended in the late 20th century. I chose this topic for my paper because it was one of the movements of theatre that really stuck out to me. I loved the idea of including the audience and transforming them from mere voyeurs but this was obviously not the way to do that. I could not believe some of the things they did to their audience. I could not believe they actually spread itching powder and glue on the seats. There are many more appropriate ways to involve an audience. This was just disrespectful to the audience. I can understand why this form of theatre was so short-lived. These antics would drive away the audience and make them too distracted to even enjoy the show. The show would then go unnoticed. I do not understand how they thought this was a good idea. The seating area is supposed to be relaxing and comfortable. The audience should feel welcomed while viewing a show, not angered and provoked by tactics involved with the seating area. They should have focused on more positive ways to engage the audience without provoking them.
